This tkinter stuff is crazy complex for stupid stuff it seams.
Anything easier out there?

froomzer, its quite simple. i have a chat script that runs on the command line right now but I want to make one that has a GUI
so all i need is a big windows that has all of the input from all the users and then a small area to type your message. much like IRC but without the names list and menu and stuff

froomzer, i don't know. i don't use gnome but i have always seen KDE run GTK stuff

Klimapol, consider pygtk and glade (or gazpacho). building a GUI with these is not only a child's play, it is fun.

Well, if you don't like tkinter, there's pygtk and tepache. you make the gui in glade, run tepache on it, it gives you an easy framework to plugin your events
