Job details: We are looking for a junior developer with 3 years or less experience to work in a small team to write server based applications for electronic trading and market data infrastructure.  The position requires communication with traders and other support people.  Applications will be written on both the Unix platform and the Windows XP platform.  Position Requirements: Strong C++ and Perl skill set with at least 1-year industry experience.  BS in Computer Science or related field.  SQL Background (Sybase is a plus) Excellent grasp of software engineering principles including development and release lifecycle processes.  Ability to learn a new industry and technology quickly.  Good at working both alone and in teams on disparate tasks - highly motivated with initiative and self-management skills.  Working knowledge of both PC and Unix Environments Exceptional problem solving skills.


 

Preferred Skills Financial trading knowledge/experience, especially fixed-income experience.  Experience designing and implementing distributed real-time software systems.  C#, Visual Basic, TIBCO Rendezvous, or Java.  Experience with trading or financial software, especially real-time systems.  Experience working with financial broker and exchange APIs (e.g. trade feeds, pricing feeds, order execution) and/or trade management systems.  Makefile and build experience.  Computer Science Degree strongly preferred
